    David Bounie
    Professor, researcher
    David Bounie is Professor, Head of the Economic and Social Sciences Department at Télécom Paris, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and a member of the management team of the I3 laboratory (Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation). He conducts his research in the fields of economics with an interest in the use of quantitative methods (econometrics, applied statistics, data science), and is particularly interested in how digital technologies are transforming the financial sector (digital payments, blockchains, cryptomoney, artificial intelligence). He is co-founder of the "Digital Finance" Research Chair (2018-2022) at the Louis Bachelier Institute and the "Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Anti-Money Laundering" Research Chair funded by the French National Research Agency.

    Winston Maxwell
    Professor at Télécom Paris
    Winston Maxwell is Director of Law and Digital Technology Studies at Telecom Paris - Institut polytechnique de Paris. Before joining Telecom Paris, Winston Maxwell was partner at Hogan Lovells specialized in data protection and internet law. He holds a law degree from Cornell Law School and a PhD in economics from Telecom Paris. His research focus is the regulation of artificial intelligence. In 2019, he was designated lawyer of the year in the Les Echos/Best Lawyers ranking in connection with his work in data protection and in telecommunications regulation.

    Stephan Clémençon
    Professor at Télécom Paris
    Stephan Clémençon is a full professor at Télécom Paris, Institut Mines-Télécom, and head of the S2A Research Team (Signal, Statistics and Learning). He carries out his research activity in applied math in the Télécom Paris LTCI Lab. His research topics are mainly related to machine learning, probability and statistics. He is in charge of the Big Data Post-Master Degree at Télécom Paris and held the Machine Learning for Big Data Chair from 2013 to 2018.

    Associate professor in economics, Marie Obidzinski is a member of the Center for Research in Economics and Law (CRED). She is specialized in economic analysis of law and is particularly interested in the development of new digital technologies (blockchain, artificial intelligence).

    Xavier Vamparys
    Associate Researcher
    Xavier Vamparys is in charge of AI ethics at CNP Assurances, after having been its corporate legal director. He is particularly interested in issues related to the responsible use of AI in the financial sector. As a PhD student in the "Operational AI Ethics" laboratory, he carries out research on the impact of AI on insurance as an instrument for organising solidarity within our societies. He is the author of some forty articles published in specialist journals and a book on the blockchain.

    Astrid Bertrand is a PhD student at Télécom Paris - Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and within the consulting company PwC, under the supervision of David Bounie (Télécom Paris) and Winston Maxwell (Télécom Paris). She is working on measuring the efficiency of current AML systems and on the different explainability approaches to use AI in AML. She holds an Engineering degree from Centrale Lyon and a MSc in Sustainability and Social Innovation from HEC.
